Lula changes PF command in 18 states and dismisses 26 PRF superintendents – 01/19/2023 – Power

The government of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) promoted this Thursday (19) a major change in command of the Federal Police in the states, replacing 18 regional superintendents. Also dismissed were 26 Federal Highway Police superintendents in the states

One of the nominees in the PF is delegate Leandro Almada, who will assume the regional superintendence in Rio de Janeiro, he was chosen by the new general director, Andrei Rodrigues.

Almada has been with the PF since 2008, has experience in investigations and in leadership positions and, recently, was responsible for the inquiry into the attempt to obstruct the investigation into the death of councilor Marielle Franco and driver Anderson Gomes.

At the Federal Highway Police, one of those dismissed is Virgílio de Paula Tourinho, from the Bahia unit. He was summoned by the electoral justice, during the second round of elections, because of operations in the state that made it difficult for many voters to vote in the state, which is a PT stronghold.

The changes were published in an extra-edition of the Official Gazette, published on Wednesday night (18). The ordinances are signed by the Minister of the Civil House, Rui Costa.

Almada will take over Rio de Janeiro, which during the government of Jair Bolsonaro was at the center of suspicions of interference denounced by former judge Sergio Moro.

The delegate has been with the PF since 2008, has experience in investigations and in leadership positions and, recently, was responsible for the inquiry into the attempt to obstruct the investigation into the death of councilor Marielle Franco and driver Anderson Gomes.

The investigation conducted by him concluded that the military police officer Rodrigo Ferreira, known as Ferreirinha, and the lawyer Camila Nogueira were part of a criminal organization that tried to disrupt the investigations.

Before Rio, the delegate was superintendent in Amazonas and Bahia. After the Marielle case, he coordinated the investigation into clandestine vaccination against Covid in Belo Horizonte (MG).

For São Paulo, the largest superintendence in the country, the chosen one was delegate Rogério Giampaolli, who was once head of the COT (Tactical Operations Command) and was currently in charge of the PF in Sorocaba (SP).

He will replace delegate Rodrigo Bartolamei, appointed in the government of Jair Bolsonaro.

To lead the superintendence in Paraíba, the delegate Christiane Correa Machado was chosen.

The researcher commanded for a period during the government of Jair Bolsonaro the Cinq (Coordination of Special Inquiries), responsible for cases involving people with privileged jurisdiction in the superior courts.

She participated, for example, in the investigation into the accusations of former Minister of Justice Sergio Moro against Bolsonaro for interference in the PF.

Delegate Cézar Luiz Busto de Souza was chosen to command the PF in the Federal District, replacing Victor Cesar Carvalho dos Santos.

The investigator became the director of Investigation and Combating Organized Crime, the most sensitive sector of the PF, in the Bolsonaro government.

He was nominated by Rolando de Souza, second of the four general directors of Jair Bolsonaro’s government.
