It has been 20 years since the president’s last visit to Parintins, when he participated in the festival.
President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) tries to articulate a space in the agenda to go to the 56th Parintins Folk Festival, in the interior of Amazonas.
According to journalist Mario Adolfo Fillho, the expectation is that the president will come on Friday (30) or Saturday (01), but the definition should only happen during the next week.
The last time Lula was in Parintins to watch the festivities was 20 years ago, in 2003, during his first term.
According to an anonymous source for the journalist, an event that will take place in São Paulo on the same weekend as the festival could remove the president from the party in Amazonas.
“We have information that a pre-agenda with four ministers is set up for the Parintins Festival, but there is still no definition”
he stated.
In Parintins, in the 2022 elections, considering the votes in the city, Lula obtained 82.56% of the valid votes, while the then president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) received only 17.44%.
