Lula appoints three new STJ ministers – 11/11/2023 – Power
[ad_1]
President Lula (PT) appointed lawyer Daniela Teixeira and second-instance federal judges Afrânio Vilela and Teodoro Silva Santos to the STJ (Superior Court of Justice).
The three were approved by the Senate at the end of October — now, the president has completed the final bureaucratic step for them to be sworn into office.
The president of the Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco (PSD-MG), even temporarily suspended the sending to the Planalto Palace of the nomination of lawyer Daniela Teixeira for the vacancy at the STJ and ordered the installation of an inquiry to investigate complaints of benefit by having only her name forwarded to the government for publication in the Official Gazette of the Union.
In the end, however, the three names were forwarded, which allowed Lula to be appointed.
