Luan’s friends say that masked men were armed – 7/5/2023 – Sport

An incident report for threat and personal injury made by friends of the player Luan Guilherme de Jesus Vieira, 30, from Corinthians, gives details of how the invasion of the motel in the west zone of São Paulo where the athlete was. According to witnesses, masked and armed men, who said they were members of organized supporters, threatened the player with death.

Luan was removed from one of the rooms at the Caribe motel, in Barra Funda, early on Monday (4).

Those responsible for recording the incident were at the time of the attack and said that seven men knocked on the bedroom door already looking for the athlete.

“I’m going to kill Luan, I’m going to kill you, this is Gaviões,” one of the aggressors would have shouted, according to the incident report. Sought after, the organized crowd did not take a stand.

Still according to the testimony, one of the men wore a ninja cap and carried a gun, which he even pointed in the direction of the victims.

Luan and his companions allegedly left the rooms and went to the parking lot to ask for help, when they found other supposed members of the crowd, who also cursed and threatened the athlete.

“Bastard, bum, if you don’t leave Corinthians, we’ll kill you”, the group would have said.

Even with tempers high, Luan was not attacked at that moment, only during the invasion of the room, points out the testimony – the athlete published a photo of shorts with blood marks. According to the victims, during the confusion, fireworks were heard outside the motel.

The attackers fled before the arrival of the Military Police.

In the report to the civil police officers in Barueri, in Greater São Paulo, the victims also said they had received reproductions of posts on Instagram via messaging apps with a photo of individuals with the phrase “target successfully found”.

Luan’s friends testified that the men in the photo were wearing the same sweatshirts as the group that threatened them.

The photo is the same one that the Civil Police used as a basis to identify seven suspects of having participated in the attack.

Victims claimed to believe that an app driver may have contributed to the location of where Luan would be that night. The professional would have transported one of the women present at the party.

Luan’s two friends who attended the police station said that, when they complained to those responsible for the motel for allowing the fans to enter, they were informed that the group was armed, and that, therefore, it was not possible to stop the invasion.

Controversial hiring

Hired in 2019 by Corinthians for almost BRL 29 million, the player became the center of controversy because of his high salary (about BRL 800,000 a month) and poor performance. He has not been used since last year and was even loaned to Santos, which was in charge of paying R$ 100,000 from the athlete’s salaries, while the club from Parque São Jorge took the rest.

In a recent interview with former player Denílson’s podcast, Luan said he was ready to play and that he had asked for opportunities for Vítor Pereira (coach in 2022) and Vanderlei Luxemburgo (the current one), without being answered.

For months, Duilio Monteiro Alves has been trying to find a solution for Luan’s situation, but, he says, Corinthians does not have the money to pay for the termination that the group of fans tried this morning to achieve on the basis of violence.
