The president of the Chamber of Deputies, Arthur Lira (PP-AL), said this Friday (16) that he did not speak with President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) about possible changes in government ministries. The representative received Lira at Palácio da Alvorada this afternoon amid pressure for a change of command at the Ministry of Tourism.
União Brasil hopes to exchange Daniela Carneiro (RJ) for federal deputy Celso Sabino (PA), Lira’s ally, at the head of the portfolio. “I heard from him [Lula] the intention to reduce the sending of PMs [medidas provisórias], a desire of the National Congress. There was no mention of changes in President Lula’s Ministry,” said the president of the Chamber at the twitter.
According to the deputy, the two spoke about the tax reform and the bill that deals with the Administrative Council of Tax Appeals (Carf). “We deal with the good moment of the Brazilian economy, the intention of working together for the country, and the recent approval of matters by the Chamber of Deputies with this objective”, stated Lira.
