Statement made after the revelation that the PF found a ‘coup script’ on Mauro Cid’s cell phone

Brasília (DF) – After the Federal Police (PF) found on the cell phone of Lieutenant Colonel Mauro Cid, former assistant to Jair Bolsonaro (PL), a “coup script” that included the removal of ministers from the Federal Supreme Court (STF) and the appointment of an intervenor, the defense of the former president states that he “never participated in any conversation about an alleged coup d’état”.

“The new dialogues revealed by Veja magazine prove, once again, that President Bolsonaro never participated in any conversation about an alleged coup d’état. We also recorded that the aide-de-camp, due to the function performed, received all demands, scheduling requests, messages, etc., which should reach the President of the Republic. His cell phone, therefore, on several occasions became a simple mailbox that registered the most diverse lamentations”,

they stated.

Scam messages on Cid’s cell phone

On Mauro Cid’s cell phone, a ‘coup script’ would have been found, which included the removal of the ministers of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) Alexandre de Moraes, Cármen Lúcia and Ricardo Lewandowski and the appointment of an intervenor to restore the “constitutional order ”. The information was first released by the magazine Look.

Also, messages from Colonel Jean Lawand were identified, suggesting the coup. The content brought requests from Lawand for Cid to convince Bolsonaro to order a military intervention in the country, after the defeat in the elections for President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT).

On Wednesday (7), information was released that an alleged draft of a decree for the Guarantee of Law and Order (GLO) and texts that would be intended to support the government in a possible coup d’état were found by the PF on Cid’s cell phone.

The GLO is a military operation that exclusively allows the President of the Republic to summon the Armed Forces in cases where there is exhaustion of the traditional public security forces in serious situations of disturbance of order.
