Libertadores: Internacional and Fluminense compete for a place in the final

The decisive game takes place this Thursday, at the Beira-Rio stadium, in Porto Alegre

Internacional and Fluminense meet, starting at 9:30 pm (Brasília time) this Wednesday (4) at the Beira-Rio stadium, in Porto Alegre, for the return of the Copa Libertadores semi-finals.

After an electrifying 2-2 draw in the first leg, at Maracanã, the teams are once again face to face. Now, whoever wins goes to the final. In case of new equality, the place will be decided in a penalty shootout. The other Libertadores finalist comes out of the clash between Palmeiras and Boca Juniors (Artentino), which will be played next Thursday (5).

Internacional arrives with the advantage of playing the decisive match in front of their passionate fans. The Colorados are confident and hope for a victory that will take the Rio Grande do Sul team to a new continental decision after a 13-year hiatus. The last Libertadores final that the club from Rio Grande do Sul played in was precisely the last one it won: in 2010, against Chivas (Mexico).

Last weekend, Inter rested its starters to face Atlético-MG in the Brazilian Championship, and lost at home as a result. In a game against Galo, Colorado was defeated 2-0. However, the setback does not bring discouragement ahead of this Wednesday’s historic clash.

Thinking about the decisive clash with Inter, coach Fernando Diniz sent the reserves to the field last Saturday (30) to face Cuiabá in the Brazilian Championship. Tricolor lost 3-0 in a game in which the starters didn’t even travel.

Without being able to count on right-back Samuel Xavier, sent off in the first game, Diniz must choose Guga in the position. Another absence from Tricolor is defender David Braz, who was not even listed due to a knee sprain. Defenders Nino and Felipe Melo, as well as striker John Kennedy, are hanging.
