Leite can file until Wednesday teachers’ readjustment

The second meeting between Governor Eduardo Leite (PSDB), the Secretaries of State and the government’s base in the Legislative Assembly focused on the salary adjustment for state education servants and on actions to combat the drought.

At the meeting, Leite confirmed to the state deputies that he will file the proposed readjustment of 9.45% for all levels of education in Rio Grande do Sul, including active professionals and retirees with parity.

“We presented to the deputies what the limitations were. We are going to pay the floor, respecting the federal legislation. .

Lemos confirmed that the project should be filed in the Legislative of Rio Grande do Sul by Wednesday (1st), after a last meeting with Cpers to present the final text of the matter.

The limitations reported by the secretary would be imposed by the Fiscal Responsibility Law, which would prevent a greater readjustment in education. Cpers is asking for a wage increase of around 14.95% – like the readjustment in the national floor – for all categories.

The drought was also one of the focuses of the meeting. The government presented the actions carried out to combat the drought in Rio Grande do Sul and the search for perennial monitoring of the theme – after all, droughts affect agricultural production in the state on a recurring basis. The event is not casual in the state.

“Update the joint actions of the secretariats, explain how we are working on this issue in a non-punctual way, but with a historical survey and structured actions, including with the differences between last year’s drought and this year”, reported the secretary of Environment and Infrastructure, Marjorie Kauffman.

Deputies such as Felipe Camozzato (Novo), Elton Weber (PSB) and Classman (União Brasil) questioned the issue of focusing on solving the problem, and not just on providing financial aid and dealing with the negative effects that occur with the drought.

“I think that the issue of drought needs not only regional action by the State, but also an articulation with the federal government, since there is a lot of federal legislation involved that makes restrictions on water storage licensing. I would like to see the State government committed to it”, stated Camozzato.

At the meeting, Leite stated that he will address this issue with President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT).

It was the expectation of deputies that the government would address the IPE Health issue, an issue that ended up being left for a next meeting.

“We hope that there may be answers to the great problems of the State – among them, the issue of the IPE. There has to be a more adequate adjustment between revenue and expenditure”, stated deputy Dr. Thiago Duarte (União Brasil).
