The Legislative Police asked for reinforcement in security for the inauguration ceremony of the elected senators and for the opening session of the work, which will be held on February 1 and 2, respectively. The director of the Senate Police, Alessandro Morales Martins, forwarded the request to the Federal District Security intervenor, Ricardo Cappelli.

In the official letter, Morales asks for the reinforcement of ostensive policing in the vicinity of Congress and other measures that the Secretariat of Public Security of the DF deems necessary. He says that the ceremonies have “political projection, a characteristic whose sensitivity has been increased due to the latest events linked to the invasion of the Three Powers on January 8”.

And remember that there is the expectation of participation of several authorities, including the heads of the three Powers. This Tuesday (24), the Minister of Justice and Public Security, Flávio Dino, extended the work of the National Force on the Esplanada dos Ministérios until February 4.

The measure was taken to guarantee the security of events in Congress and also in the Federal Supreme Court (STF), which will hold its first in-person session after the depredation of the plenary on February 1. With information from Agência Senado and Agência Brasil.
