Leandro Damião performs at Coritiba

The attacker Leandro Damião performed at the Coritiba on the morning of this Monday (12). Coxa’s new number 9 arrived by car in Curitiba and was at the Graciosa CT to undergo exams.

The 34-year-old has signed a contract until the end of the season. His last club was Kawasaki Frontale, from Japan, where he played 178 games, with 71 goals and 24 assists, in five seasons.

In Brazil, he had spells at Internacional, Flamengo and Santos. The striker even worked with coach Guto Ferreira at Inter in 2017 and arrives to replace Slimani.

“Expectations are high. This is a historically champion club and I am extremely motivated by challenges. Alongside my teammates, we will achieve great results and bring joy to this passionate fan base,” he said on Coritiba’s social media last week.

The tendency is that he will not yet be available for the duel against Maringá on Wednesday (14), at 8 pm, at Couto Pereira, for the ninth round of Paranaense. However, he may be registered for the Atletiba classic on Sunday (18), at 6:30 pm, again at the Alviverde stadium, but it will depend on physical conditions.
