The City of Manaus Gold Medal is the most important honor of the Legislative Assembly of Amazonas

Manaus (AM) – Lawyer Nelson Wilians will receive the City of Manaus Gold Medal from the Manaus City Council, in a ceremony on June 16, at 2 pm. The tribute is authored by Councilor Diego Afonso (PSL), to the CEO of the largest business law firm in Latin America, with branches in all capitals of Brazil and representations in several countries.

The City of Manaus Gold Medal is the most important honor of the Legislative House, given to those who carry out relevant activities for society in the capital of Amazonas.

Nelson Wilians is one of the references of business law in Brazil and also stands out for the entrepreneurial spirit that he makes available to companies, entities and clients in the Manaus Free Trade Zone, where he has been installed since 2008.

He also publishes inspiring posts aimed at law students, young lawyers and entrepreneurs, highlighting the countless possibilities for professional practice and opportunities that the country offers.
“I am immensely honored and grateful to receive this title, from a city that I have been in love with for a long time. I can only thank the citizens of Manaus and the City Council for their appreciation and honor. Even before opening our branch in Manaus, I visited the city countless times. And my affinity was immediate with its economic dynamism, with the courage and sympathy of the people here”, emphasizes Nelson Wilians.

Author of the tribute, councilor Diego Afonso highlights as a fair and deserved tribute to the professional who has outstanding performances in several actions, having participated, for example, in the defense of the Manaus Free Trade Zone (ZFM) against the decision of São Paulo that canceled the credits of the Tax on Circulation of Goods and Services (ICMS) of products purchased in the region.

“The Shenzhen Free Trade Zone, in the province of Guangdong, was instrumental in taking China out of stagnation and leading it to become a major economic power. Some friends who were in that region told me that local authorities usually say “thank you” to Brazilians who visit the place, because Shenzhen was inspired by the Manaus Free Trade Zone. I not only thank the Manaus Free Trade Zone, but I understand that we should encourage it to have the same importance that Shenzhen has for the Chinese economy”, adds Wilians.

Trajectory

Lawyer Nelson Wilians is from Cianorte, Paraná, and comes from a family of small farmers. He holds a degree in Law from the Toledo Teaching Institution, one of the most renowned colleges in the State of São Paulo.

Before becoming the CEO of NWADV (Nelson Wilians Advogados), Nelson began his career in the city of Bauru. In 1999, he installed the headquarters of NWADV in the city of São Paulo. In 2003, he inaugurated a large headquarters on Marginal do Rio Pinheiros.

The period from 2004 to 2010 was marked by exponential and continuous growth, with the opening of its own offices in all Brazilian capitals. In 2014, it transferred the Headquarters to a modern, spacious and sophisticated headquarters located at CENU, (Centro Empresarial Nações Unidas), in the neighborhood of Brooklyn. In the same year, NWADV (Nelson Wilians Advogados) is recognized by Anuário Análise Advocacia as the largest law firm in Brazil in the categories of full service and number of lawyers.

A Brazilian lawyer, lecturer and entrepreneur, he became nationally known for implementing a new model of law in the country and today has offices in all Brazilian capitals and main strategic cities in the interior of the country, in addition to having representations in Asia, Europe and Latin America .
In addition to being president of Nelson Wilians Advogados and the NW Group, he is Honorary Consul of Hungary, columnist for the renowned magazine Forbes-Brasil and speaker.
