Last September 1st, Latam reopened flights between Brazil and Melbourne, Australia, the company’s longest route. Suspended since April 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the operation should receive 10,000 passengers a year.

With the resumption of flights, Brazil becomes part of the route between Santiago and Melbourne, which operates with three flights a week covering 11 thousand kilometers in a Boeing 787-9.

On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, flights with 300 passengers depart Santiago, Chile, at 00:55 am, arriving in Melbourne the next day at 5:30 am. On the way back, departing from Australia, passengers take off at 12:25 pm (local time), arriving in Santiago at 11:20 am on the same day.

It is the company’s second route between Latin America and the Oceania country. Latam already operated flights between Santiago, Auckland and Sydney.

The area, which inaugurated routes between Brasilia and Lima in 2023, is still preparing a route between Belo Horizonte and Santiago.
