The municipal secretary of social assistance of Laranjal do Jari and president of the State Collegiate of Municipal Social Assistance Managers of Amapá, Maiara Caldas, informs that together with the Network to Combat Violence Against Children and Adolescents, the municipality is engaged in the campaign ‘Say no to sexual abuse and exploitation against children and adolescents”.
Maiara points out that engagement in the national campaign, in the municipality of Laranjal do Jari, is intersectoral, driven by Municipal Law No. 840/2019, establishing that mobilization takes place throughout the entire month of Vale do Jari, not just May, the National Day of the Make Beautiful Campaign throughout Brazil.
“The measure aims to guarantee the maximum rights of our children and adolescents. The municipality is engaged in the campaign, together with the Rede de Enfrentamento, with the aim of protecting the rights of our children and, by extension, of our adolescents”, describes the secretary.
Maiara emphasizes that the campaign is just beginning and invites citizens to take part in order to strengthen the mobilization. “Don’t do it differently, do it beautifully, embrace this cause”, advises the head of social assistance in Laranjal do Jari.
Finally, the secretary states that in Laranjal do Jari, children are an absolute priority and advises anyone who is a victim or witnesses abuse and sexual exploitation against children and adolescents, to report it by calling the number 100. But if you prefer, contact the Tutelary Council or the city police stations.
