Juscelino Filho contradicts Lula’s orders and rehires Bolsonarists

Against the orders of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT). the Minister of Communications, Juscelino Filho, rehired nine servants dismissed by the new management, who held positions during the command of Jair Bolsonaro (PL) in the Executive.

The information was published exclusively by the Estado de S. Paulo newspaper. According to the report, Juscelino also employed in the ministry the sister of the partner of his family’s stud farm, where he raises purebred horses. The minister was approached by the report, but did not appear.

“Debolsonarization” of the government

During a speech in the city of Santo Amaro (BA), on February 14, the president reinforced that he needed to “remove” Bolsonarists “infiltrated” in leadership positions. More than 1,400 civil servants in strategic positions have already been exonerated since Lula took office.

The servants in question were included in a list of the Civil House, under the command of Rui Costa, who was exonerated on January 1 — following orders from the president. Weeks later, in an operation by Juscelino Filho, nine of these employees were rehired by him in different positions.

The Ministry of Communications is composed of three secretariats under Juscelino Filho. Now, all are commanded by commissioners exonerated by the Lula government for having held positions of trust in the Bolsonaro administration.

In addition to the rehiring, the minister also took the sister of the partner of the stud farm where he keeps his race horses to the ministry. As revealed by Estadãothe minister hid from the Electoral Justice having 12 horses worth R$ 2 million.

Tatiana Marques Gaspar da Silva was hired as a special advisor to the minister with a salary of R$ 13.6 thousand.

As Estadão showed, Juscelino Filho used a FAB plane and received R$ 3,000 per day from the government for a mostly private agenda in São Paulo dedicated to his horses.

The amount was deposited because the minister informed the government that he would spend four days in the state and that it was an “urgent” trip. Of the period, three days were dedicated to horses.

This Thursday, the 2nd, after the Estadão report, Juscelino admitted that he only had a schedule for two days and returned the money to the public coffers.
