The TRF-4 (Federal Regional Court of the 4th Region) will designate this Monday (19) a new judge for Operation Lava Jato.
Gabriela Hardt, who had been in charge of the investigations until then, asked to be removed by an appeal group, but the request had been denied. The order will now be accepted.
Hardt had returned to the 13th Federal Court in Curitiba after Judge Eduardo Appio was removed during an investigation into an alleged threat. The magistrate remains away.
The new name should be announced this Monday morning.
The TRF-4 and the 13th Court have been undergoing an extraordinary correction by the CNJ (National Council of Justice) since the end of May, after Eduardo Appio was removed. The magistrate was reviewing all the decisions taken by former judge Sergio Moro in Lava Jato.
He is accused of calling the son of one of the judges, pretending to be a third person, in order to gain access to his personal data. The act was understood as a threat. The defense of the judge denies.
