The substitute judge Gabriela Hardt will no longer be removed from the 13th Federal Court of Curitiba, where she conducts the Lava Jato cases after the removal of Judge Eduardo Appio. According to information from the Federal Regional Court of the 4th Region released this Wednesday (14), the magistrate failed to pass the internal contest that would take her to the Federal Court of Florianópolis.

According to the court, another judge with more time on the job requested the transfer to the capital of Santa Catarina. One of the criteria for removal is the seniority of magistrates.

Gabriela Hardt had asked for her removal from office at the end of last month, but now she will continue to conduct the Lava Jato processes in Curitiba. The magistrate has already been at the head of the 13th Federal Court of Curitiba on other occasions, such as after the departure of the then judge Sérgio Moro to participate in the government of former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL).

The magistrate was responsible for the conviction of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) in the investigation that found the payment of bribes through the renovation of a site in Atibaia (SP).
