Judge determines preventive detention and no right to bail for Daniel Alves

Inconsistencies in the statements may have contributed to the arrest. Images inside the Sutton Barcelona nightclub, where it all happened on the night of December 30, show Alves leaving alone, without his friends, after leaving the bathroom.

The woman, whose name was not released, said she was with friends in the club’s VIP area when she went to the toilet. There, the player would have put his hand under her dress. According to the woman’s first statement, taken on January 2, she returned crying to her friends, saying that she had been harassed by a “famous man”. Security guards were called, and the police were called.

Minutes after arriving at the police station, the football star was taken to the City of Justice in a patrol car with tinted windows, which prevented cameramen and photographers at the door from registering any images. According to the Spanish press, detainees are usually transferred by van, which was not the case.

According to the player’s team, he voluntarily presented himself at the police station in the morning. Alves had a scheduled ticket back to Mexico, where he currently plays, and expected to travel this Friday.

On January 5, the player participated in the program “Y Ahora Sonsoles”, on TV Antena 3, and stated that he was at the disco, but denied having touched it without permission. “I would like to deny everything, first of all.
