The journalist and writer from Rio de Janeiro Dora Kramer, 67, is the new columnist for Sheet. The texts will be published in the online version on Mondays and Fridays. In the print edition, they will be on page A2 on Tuesdays and Saturdays and will be available.

The column will bring analyzes of the national situation and important facts in a local aspect that can change the power game in Brazil. Dora will bring perspectives from those who have been practicing journalism, especially in politics, for over 30 years.

The debut in Sheet it will be this Monday (27) on the website and on Tuesday (28) in the printed version.

Graduated in journalism from Faculdade Cásper Líbero in 1977, Dora Kramer worked at the newspapers O Estado de S. Paulo, Diário Popular, Jornal do Brasil and at Veja magazine, where she worked until last year. In the newsrooms and in her columns, she has followed national events since the 1980s.

He also worked on JBFM radio, in Rio de Janeiro, and is currently a commentator for BandNews FM radio, in São Paulo.

The journalist collaborated with Pedro Collor in the preparation of the book “Passando a Limpo: The Trajectory of a Farsante”, released in 1993 by Record. The work tells the story of the family of former president Fernando Collor —Pedro’s brother.

Still in the editorial market, he published “The Summary of History: Facts and Characters that Marked Brazilian Politics” in 2000, by Objetiva, and “O Politics pelo Avesso”, by Barcarolla, in 2010. Both bring together chronicles published in Jornal do Brasil and in the newspaper O Estado de S. Paulo.

Dora Kramer states that she intends to maintain balance and independence in her column, hallmarks of her journalistic career.

“This space of Sheet It is a noble space, and I hope to live up to the newspaper’s trust. Talking to the reader has always been my passion. I want to speak with those who read, with those who listen, with those who see, that’s my reason for writing.”

The journalist says she is not frightened by the scenario of political polarization in the country and points out that she seeks good receptivity, out of respect for the reader and those who think differently from her.

“I’ve also lived through very tough times in politics, electoral campaign, Constituent Assembly, first presidential election, death of a president on the eve of inauguration, two impeachments. I’ve lived through hard moments, and that doesn’t scare me, that’s Brazil.”
