the deputy Josenildo Abrantes (PDT-AP) was the author of a Request approved by the Federal Chamber’s Inspection, Finance and Control Committee, for the holding of a Public Hearing, on September 21, with the aim of discussing the price of airline tickets in the country.
Justifying the theme proposed for the Public Hearing, Josenildo he called the price of airline tickets in Brazil abusive and preached that the Chamber of Deputies cannot let a group of just three companies jeopardize the right to come and go of thousands of Brazilians with extortionate prices for air travel.
“How long are we going to put up with the abuse in the price of airline tickets? We have a country with continental dimensions, and that is why air transport is a necessity. Tickets with absurd values harm tourism, harm business and hinder the development of Brazil”spoke the parliamentarian.
Then, the man from Amapá recognized that companies have to make a profit, but not a profit by charging abusive prices. He also invited the deputies, not only those belonging to the Inspection, Finance and Control Committee, but also those from Consumer Defense and Road and Transport, to unite, because the issue was not just a consumer issue, but also one of social and economic.
“We have to investigate, look into the eyes of the presidents of these aviation companies and find out why we have such a high value and services that do not validate these charges. The Chamber of Deputies has to be vigilant about this service that is so essential for Brazil”concluded Josenildo.
