Jorge Jesus he does not know what will be his fate at the end of his contract with Fenerbahce, in Turkey, at the end of the European season, in May. The Portuguese coach, however, was enthusiastic about the possibility of being among those quoted to take over the Brazilian Team.
“What coach in the world wouldn’t like? But nobody spoke to me”, he said in an interview for SportTV, in Portugal. Newspapers in his country reported that Julio Cesar would be sent by the CBF to convince him to take over the selection. But the former goalkeeper denied the possible rumours.
“My contract ends in May and we’ll see what happens, I don’t want to take any action, it’s always been like that. I’m only going to take action when the season is over, in the years I’ve been coaching that’s how I do it”, he said. Let’s see what will happen, whether I stay in Turkey or leave.”
Asked if it would be a dream to lead the Brazilian team, he showed great excitement. “Who wouldn’t want to coach the Brazilian national team? Anyone? Only if they were training at Real Madrid or Barcelona”, he replied, with a big laugh.
He was also asked if he dreamed of taking over a national team. And he showed honesty in the answer. “Few, but it could be a possibility. I say that they would be those that can win titles, win something. So I think, like the clubs I choose. I don’t go to clubs that I see that I can’t win anything, apart from some situations.”
It also did not close the doors for a possible return to Flamengo. “Everything is a hypothesis in my career, so I don’t put anything aside.” The name of Jorge Jesus comes and goes and gains repercussions when a coach is threatened in the Rio team since the good service there in 2019.
