revealed the journalist on the Spanish TV program “Fiesta”, on Telecinco.
In the trial of Daniel Alves, Joana Sanz testified in favor of the player. The model was one of the main witnesses in the athlete’s defense strategy: trying to prove that he was drunk on the night the rape took place.
“He (Daniel Alves) went to eat with his friends at the restaurant. He spent the day there and returned at almost 4 am. He came back very drunk, a person with a lot of alcohol. He hit the closet and fell on the bed,” said Joana Sanz in testimony.
Release of the verdict
The Spanish press states that Daniel Alves’ sentence, if convicted, should be announced in around 30 days. After the decision, an appeal can still be made to the Court of Appeal.
The sentence for the Brazilian athlete can reach 12 years in prison. This is the time requested by the prosecution. The Spanish Public Prosecutor’s Office requests that the player receive nine years in prison.

Daniel Alves is accused of sexually assaulting a young woman inside a bathroom at the Sutton nightclub, in Barcelona, Spain. The case occurred in December 2022 and he was preventively arrested in January 2023.
