The second package of jewels given as a gift by the government of Saudi Arabia to former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) and former first lady, Michelle Bolsonaro, were officially declared according to a note sent by his defense on Tuesday night (7) . According to lawyer Frederick Wasseff, the former president acted within the law that governs the private collections of presidents of the Republic.

“President Bolsonaro, acting within the law, officially declared the very personal goods received on trips, with no irregularity in his conduct,” says the note.

According to Wasseff, the recent allegations involving packages of jewelry given to the former president are “taking certain information out of context, generating misunderstanding and confusion for the public”.

Bolsonaro’s defense also points out that there is a “political persecution” of the former president, with the attempt to create “various narratives that do not correspond to the truth” due to the absence of “any scandal or a single case of corruption ” during his four-year tenure.
