The first lady, Rosângela da Silva, known as Janja, will host periodic themed lives and have her own agendas on trips she makes around the country and abroad when she accompanies President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), without necessarily having the PT member present. .

In addition, the sociologist will also have to fulfill specific schedules in other places and travel alone — as she did last week, when she went to Rio de Janeiro to attend the inauguration of the new president of Funarte (National Arts Foundation), Maria Marighella.

The initiatives are part of the performance that she should have in the Office of Strategic Actions in Public Policies. The sociologist should be appointed to an unpaid position at the Planalto Palace, with the aim of institutionalizing her participation in ceremonies and meetings in different government structures.

The idea is that it will be a post of political articulation between different areas of the Esplanada and society, in addition to being a post of advisory to the president. It will still be made official in the Official Gazette of the Union.

In the view of allies, the nomination is also a way to shield Janja from the criticism he has been receiving since the presidential campaign for his stance of protagonism.

There is still no exact determination on the frequency of lives, but there is an intention that more than one per month be held. The idea is that each transmission has a specific theme that dialogues with current issues and initiatives of the Lula government.

This Tuesday afternoon (7), for example, she should broadcast about women. The Minister of Women, Cida Gonçalves, and the actress and presenter Luana Xavier will participate.

“The fight against violence against women is an issue that needs to be openly discussed. After all, every woman needs to be informed about the types of violence, what her rights are and how she can seek help and shelter from the government and society” , wrote Janja on social media.

The conversation will also address actions that the Lula government will disclose on the occasion of Women’s Day, celebrated this Wednesday (8).

This Tuesday’s broadcast will take place on the premises of the EBC, in Brasília, with the participation of the minister. Janja will be able to use the company structure for future transmissions.

This will be the second live of this type that the sociologist organizes. The first, a kind of test for this model, took place on February 1st and had the participation of presenter Titi Müller, singer Maria Rita and influencer Muka.

Due to her articulation with the artistic world, Janja will also coordinate the dialogue with influencers, artists and regional leaders.

In early February, she organized a meeting with more than 50 influencers to discuss social participation and communication —President Lula was present. After that, a WhatsApp group was created to continue the dialogue with the personalities. Entitled Influencers for Democracy, the group now brings together around 150 people, including influencers, artists and leaders.

The group will also serve to present public policies and government campaigns. The idea is that it is frequently fed with visual content and information about these initiatives that can be disseminated by influencers in their respective profiles, aiming to increase their dissemination on social networks.

Contents related to Bolsa Família, Minha Casa, Minha Vida and the vaccination campaign have already been published in the group.

Also as part of the role of the new cabinet, Janja will also have to fulfill agendas and carry out activities that may or may not count on the presence of Lula and members of the government in Brazil and abroad.

On the president’s trip to the United States in February, for example, a meeting was scheduled between Janja and the American first lady, Jill Biden. It had to be cancelled, however, because the American wasn’t feeling well.

On her trip to the US, Janja also visited the National Museum of African American History and Culture accompanied by the Minister of Racial Equality, Anielle Franco.

The idea behind Janja’s own agendas is to hold meetings to talk with local leaders, with the aim of establishing bridges between the Planalto and society. It will not be up to her and her office to propose or implement public policies.

This week, the sociologist indicated that she should travel to Rio de Janeiro again to fulfill her agenda—but did not give details of what she will do in the state.

According to interlocutors, Janja’s performance in these commitments and in the work in her cabinet as a whole will have to cover themes that are dear to her, such as gender, race, human rights, food security and culture.
