The account of First Lady Rosângela Lula da Silva, Janja, on the social network ). The profile was suspended by the company after being notified by the Attorney General’s Office (AGU) and the Federal Police, which are investigating the case.
Janja’s return to X saw the publication of a long text in which the first lady said she was “exposed, attacked, threatened and disrespected like never before”, and that, despite her anguish, she received support through messages of comfort.
“I thought a lot about whether or not to return to this social network, not only because of the attacks that happened on my profile, but mainly because of the delay on the part of network X administrators in taking action, freezing my profile so that the attacks stopped being posted and could be silenced,” said Janja (look here).
Janja said his networking team “acted quickly” to take down the profile as soon as the intrusion was noticed, but that “the nightmare continued for an hour and a half until the block.” “The inconvenience and bureaucracy continued for the account to be recovered and the platform report to be finally handed over for investigation by the Federal Police, which happened just four days after the crimes committed”, she added.
Still in the “textão” of returning to X, Janja expressed solidarity with other women who face similar attacks. She highlighted the difficulty faced by non-public women who “encounter neglect, disrespect and revictimization, if not death”.
“It is sad that a 17-year-old teenager, who confessed to the invasion of my profile, is in the media environment willing to spread so much hatred and disgust towards women. Even more absurd is that platforms allow hate crimes to be carried out freely”, said Janja in reference to the two operations carried out by the Federal Police last week in Minas Gerais and the Federal District, where the young man confessed to having carried out the invasion.
Janja also made an appeal stating that “we need to talk about holding platforms accountable” regarding the recurrence of hate crimes against women and the monetization of these events by platforms. She highlighted that there is a “macho maxim” of blaming the victim that echoes in virtual crimes, and calls for investigation and punishment for the networks.
Still in the “textão” back on the network, Janja reaffirmed her commitment to remaining active on social networks as a way of “continuing to fight so that all women can live their lives free from violence. We continue together.”
