The interim president of Correios, Heglehyschynton Marçal, has promoted changes in the company’s strategic posts even with the prospect of leaving office in the coming days.
He took charge of the state-owned company at the beginning of the year, after the end of Jair Bolsonaro’s (PL) government, but should not be effective in the role.
In recent weeks, he has made appointments to the superintendencies of the interior of São Paulo, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Tocantins, Rio Grande do Norte, among others. He also appointed directors of Postal Saúde (employee assistance fund) and Postalis, the pension fund.
Marçal’s proactivity has bothered company officials, who fear other changes when the new command takes over.
In a note, Correios stated that the changes are purely administrative decisions.
“Correios is a company made up of almost 90,000 employees and, periodically, everyone undergoes an assessment of skills and results”, says the state-owned company.
Also according to the note, the changes “meet governance requirements, always with the objective of maintaining the best performance of the company, whether in operational, financial or management aspects”.
