A total of R$ 7.5 billion will be paid to 5.1 million taxpayers. The entire amount will be allocated to taxpayers who have priority, says the tax authorities.

The lot has 130,000 seniors over 80 years old, more than 978,000 between 60 and 79 years old, 70,589 contributors who have a physical or mental disability or serious illness and 468,889 contributors who have teaching as their main source of income.

Bank credit will still be made to 3.5 million taxpayers who do not have legal priority, but who, because they used the pre-filled statement or opted to receive the refund by Pix, received priority.

According to the tax authorities, amounts will also be paid to taxpayers who left the fine mesh of previous years.

In the first batch, paid on May 31, 4.13 million received a total of R$ 7.5 billion, until then the highest amount ever paid by the Revenue in history. The batch also had only priority contributors.

Revenue will still pay three more refund batches this year between July and September, on the last working day of each month.

How is the payment done

The refund is paid into the bank account informed in the income tax return, directly or by indication of a Pix key.

If, for some reason, the credit is not carried out, the amounts will be available for redemption for up to one year at Banco do Brasil. In this case, the citizen can reschedule the credit through:

  • BB Portal (https://www.bb.com.br/irpf)
  • Telephone, at the BB relationship center, 4004-0001 (capital cities), 0800-7290001 (other locations) and 0800-7290088 (special exclusive telephone number for the hearing impaired)

If the taxpayer does not redeem the amount of his refund within one year, he must make the request on the e-CAC portal (Virtual Service Center), simply:

  • Go to “Statements and Statements”.
  • Then click on “My Income Tax”
  • Finally, select the option “Request unredeemed refund in the banking network”

Who will receive this lot?

Taxpayers with priority guaranteed by law or who are considered a priority because they pre-filled or chose to receive the refund for Pix enter the second batch.

Taxpayers are entitled to priority:

  • Between 60 and 79 years old

If so, it will be necessary to correct them and send a rectifying statement. If applicable, he can also wait until January to present documents to the Revenue that prove the amounts that were declared, but that the government pointed out that there were differences.

To consult the statement extract and find out if there are pending issues, you must access the e-CAC (Virtual Revenue Service Center) or the Gov.br portal.

How to make the query

From the IRS website:

Enter the Revenue website (www.gov.br/receitafederal) and click on “My Income Tax”
Go to “Consult the Refund”

  • Enter the CPF, date of birth and fiscal year, which in this case is 2023.
  • Finally, mark the captcha indicating that it is human and click on consult

Through the My Income Tax app:

  • In the application, access the registration on Gov.br
  • In the “IRPF Services” tab, select the “Consult Refund” option

What can you see in the e-CAC?

In the extract, the taxpayer can consult:

  • If the taxpayer has debts, it is possible to consult them and authorize compensation ex officio using the refund balance
  • If the tax to be refunded was used for ex-officio compensation, it is possible to consult the statement of the compensation carried out
