The governor of Amazonas, Wilson Lima, met, this Wednesday morning (17th), in Brasília, with the Minister of Integration and Regional Development, Waldez Góes, and the Minister of Transport, Renan Filho. On the occasion, projects for the development of Amazonas were discussed, mainly improvements in the state’s road infrastructure and housing.
“The Ministry of Integration has the role of making this transversality between the secretariats. So, I went to present a portfolio of works that are being carried out by the Government of the State of Amazonas and which are important to have the support and also the intervention of the Federal Government so that there is this regional integration”, explained Wilson Lima.
On both agendas, Wilson Lima was accompanied by the Secretary of State for Infrastructure, Carlos Henrique, and the Secretary of State for Federative and International Relations (Serfi), Inês Carolina Simonetti. The governor will also have commitments, even today, with the Ministries of Education, Defense and Health.
Housing
In the meeting with Waldez Góes, the governor presented an overview of the actions carried out by the State Government since the minister was in Amazonas, at the end of March, to visit areas affected by the heavy rains. On the occasion, the minister offered support to the State and Municipality with humanitarian aid and aid in permanent housing solutions for people living in risk areas.
In addition to the resettlement actions of 594 families that were in the areas affected by the rain, in the communities of Sharp and Manaus 2000, Wilson Lima presented to the minister the Amazonas Meu Lar program, launched in April this year and that will offer more than 22 thousand housing in the state for four years.
The governor highlighted, among these housing solutions, the investments in housing that are already being made under the Social and Environmental Program of the Igarapés of Manaus and Interior (Prosamim+).
Infrastructure
The recovery of BR-319 was also on the agenda of discussions with ministers Waldez Góes and Renan Filho. The governor defended the need to advance in the recovery of the highway, in particular with regard to compliance with the environmental constraints for the evolution of the work.
Still in the area of infrastructure, Wilson Lima delivered to Waldez Góes a plan for paving branches in the state of Amazonas and presented the Água Boa project, carried out by the Sanitation Company of Amazonas (Cosama) and which has already brought drinking water to more than 130,000 amazonenses in 50 municipalities. The objective is to expand the scope of the project with the support of the Federal Government, through the Ministry’s water security program, which will hold a meeting with technicians from the State.
The governor also presented the Escola da Floresta project, which will combine education and sustainability in conservation units in the Amazon and highlighted that construction of the first unit has already begun, in the Bom Jesus Community, in São Sebastião do Uatumã (246 km from Manaus). .
