The bank finances the program that will resettle 2,580 families from risk areas, as part of Prosamin+, with the requalification of more than 324 thousand square meters of urban areas. The interventions comprise a stretch that goes from the area known as Manaus 2000, on Avenida Rodrigo Otávio, in Japiim, south zone, to the Sharp Community, in the Armando Mendes neighborhood, east zone of the capital.

“We have already resettled 266 families and, with the episodes that happened on Saturday, we are going to resettle another 200 families this week, starting this Tuesday. We are working with our goal, which is, by the end of this first semester, to remove all the families that are in that flooded area”, completed Wilson Lima.

Commitment

At the meeting, it was agreed that the Special Projects Management Unit (UGPE) will send data from areas where resettlement is a priority and the bank has undertaken to evaluate quickly.

Accompanying the governor were the executive coordinator of UGPE, Marcellus Campêlo, the state superintendent of Housing, Jivago Castro, and the head of the State Secretariat for Federative and International Relations (SERFI), Inês Carolina Simonetti.

According to Marcellus Campêlo, the IDB will also evaluate the proposal to finance the UGPE project for the maintenance of the infrastructure already built in previous phases of the program. “The objective is to maintain the draining capacity of the channels, mainly the Igarapé do 40, which is very silted up”, he explained.
