Federal deputy Dorinaldo Malafaia (PDT/AP) preached the reconstruction of the SUS, Brazil’s Unified Health System, reinforcing the protagonism of science and criticizing the denialist wave. A nurse by training and having on his CV the experience of commanding the Health Surveillance Superintendency (SVS) during the pandemic period, the parliamentarian from Amapá is a member, among other committees, of the Parliamentary Front in defense of the Vaccine.
“Today the Minister of Health Nísia Trindade was in the Chamber at the invitation of the Health Commission. It is always an opportunity to show the work that her entire team has undertaken to rebuild the SUS. The denialists even try to create disturbances, but we will not give these people any respite”, countered the Pedestrian deputy.

The Minister of Health refuted a series of controversies with the opposition to the federal government and detailed investments in the area within the new Growth Acceleration Program (PAC). With the summons transformed into an invitation, Nísia participated this Wednesday (13) in a joint hearing of the Health and Pensions Committees of the Chamber of Deputies requested by several parliamentarians critical of the current administration.
Nísia Trindade reaffirmed that combating fake news is one of the Ministry of Health’s communication challenges. She clarified the type of misinformation to be overcome. “It’s not about doubt or even reproducing false or misleading content. It is about systematically and deliberately spreading lies that have negative effects on people’s health and lives. Unfortunately, this fake news is spread by the most diverse people, including health professionals.”
