In Amapá, Operation Átria arrests 77 women aggressors in 33 days – News of Brazil

The Government of Amapá presented, this Tuesday, 4, in the auditorium of the General Police Departmentthe final balance of Operation Atria to combat crimes of violence against women and femicide. In all, 77 aggressors were arrested and 678 victims treated in six municipalities.
The operation, which began on February 27th and ended in the state on Friday, March 31st, was coordinated by the Police Department for Crimes Against Women (DCCM) with support from the Department of Justice and Public Security (Sejusp), Military Police, Scientific Police, Municipal Guard of Macapá and Institute of Penitentiary Administration (Iapen).
“We had the expected successes during the operation. We were able to make arrests and guarantee protection for women facing all types of violence. And even with the closure of Átria, we will continue with actions in all municipalities”, said the delegate Sandra Dantas, head of the DCCM and coordinator of Operation Átria in Amapá.
In addition to inspection and repression activities during the Átria period in Amapá, lectures on prevention, guidance and awareness of the importance of denouncing cases of domestic violence were also held.
The Chief of Police, Cezar Vieira, highlighted the joint work of the security agencies during the actions.
“The integration of police officers against criminal practices, determined by the State Government, is essential to provide efficient responses and protect the victims, in this case, the women assisted during the operation”highlighted Cezar Vieira.
