In a balanced game, Australia beats Brazil in the Women’s Basketball Pre-Olympic – News of Brazil


Brazil played a balanced game against Australia, this Thursday (8), at Ginásio Mangueirinho, in Belém, Pará.

However, the Brazilians were beaten by the Australians 60 to 55, in the first match of the Women’s Basketball Pre-Olympic.

The highlight of the winning team was center Ezi Magbegor. The player scored 18 points (the highest score of the match) and accumulated seven rebounds in the match. Damiris Dantas and Kamilla, from Brazil, scored 11 points each.

In the other group game, earlier, Germany beat Serbia 73 to 66. German winger Leonie Fiebich scored 20 points.

The four teams return to the court next Saturday (10). Australia faces Germany, at 5pm (Brasília time). Brazil faces Serbia at 8pm. The games are played at Ginásio Mangueirinho, in Belém, Pará.

Women’s Pre-Olympic

Brazil, Australia, Germany and Serbia form a group based in Belém, Pará. The teams will play each other in a single round. The three best classified will guarantee a place in the next Olympics, in Paris.
