The defense of the governor removed from the Federal District, Ibaneis Rocha (MDB), handed over his cell phone to the Federal Police this Monday afternoon (23). Ibaneis was the target of search and seizure warrants last week, but as he was outside Brasilia on the day of the operation, the device had not been seized.

“The governor was out of Brasília when his residence was searched, but he insists that his telephone be investigated, because, as already mentioned, he has nothing to hide and is the most interested in fully investigating the facts”, said lawyer Cleber Lopes in statements reproduced by Agência Brasil.

This afternoon, the lawyer told the g1 portal that he “went to the PF headquarters in Brasília today and handed over the cell phone” used by Ibaneis, “so that the expertise can be carried out”.

On the day of the acts of vandalism in Brasília, on January 8, the minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) Alexandre de Moraes removed Ibaneis from office for 90 days. In addition, the removed governor is the subject of an inquiry that investigates the conduct of security authorities in the Federal District.
