“I will not accept that they joke about who will take care of atypical children”, says Breval

Councilor Lissandro Breval called any suggestion that does not address the issue seriously and effectively a ‘joke’
Manaus (AM) – Councilman Lissandro Breval (Avante) repudiated, this Wednesday morning (21), any proposition that ‘plays’ with the need for mediators in classrooms of municipal schools to support autistic children and those with other disabilities. The councilor’s revolt was punctuated during the discussion of the Bill that legislates on the presence of the mediator teacher, when they suggested `leaving open’ the training of the support professional.
“Authorize the presence of a mediator teacher? This is a joke, isn’t it? There is no need to create a law for this, it already exists and has to be complied with. He is not even a mediator, he is a school support teacher. I am very worried about these moves. And I get even more worried when some defenses say that you have to leave the formation open. Don’t joke about it. The training has to be specified because this person will take care of lives”,
protested Breval.
According to Breval, discussing and legislating about a PL that should be indicated by the municipal management and use a function – mediator – that doesn’t even exist is worrying in the serious struggle for the inclusion of children in the municipal schools of Manaus.
“Parents are day after day fighting for the inclusion of these children, fighting for their rights. Then the House legislates on something that, in addition to the fact that there is already a law that ensures the presence of support, uses the wrong term and also receives suggestions to leave open the necessary training for the professional who will be in the room with that child. You Must be kidding”,
concluded.
