How are Tite’s 26 squad one month after the return of the European championships

The European championships returned about a month ago after the stoppage for the World Cup in Qatar and, while some players who formed Tite’s Brazil team at the world cup have stood out, others are down.

Casemiro is the highlight. He leads the group in minutes played (804), has been undefeated since then with nine wins and a draw and added up to seven participations in goals: three balls on the net and four assists. Still at United, Fred remains only as an option on the bench. Of the 11 games he played after the World Cup, he only started twice. He added 316 minutes, but shone in the last game scoring a goal and providing an assist – he has two goals and two assists in total.

Neymar was in the starting line-up more times than Mbappé and Messi. The Brazilian star played in six of PSG’s eight games, while Mbappé and Messi played five and four respectively. Ney scored two goals and provided four assists.

Pedro leads the artillery of the period with four goals in four games. The Flamengo player still has two assists and is tied with Neymar with six direct participations in goals, behind only Casemiro – who has seven.

Like Casemiro, Raphinha and Weverton are undefeated. Unlike the Palmeiras goalkeeper, the Barcelona striker is far from untouchable and was in the starting line-up in five of the nine games he participated in, but managed five goals (two balls in the net and three assists). With Raphinha, Barça won seven games and drew two.

Antony and Martinelli are ahead of Rodrygo. The Manchester United and Arsenal players have started most of the games since the World Cup, while Rodrygo has featured from the start in just four of Real’s nine games so far. The three, however, are strictly tied in participation in goals, with two each and one assist.

Vini Jr remains untouchable at Real Madrid. He started eight games and, in the Brazilian group, is second only to Casemiro in minutes on the pitch. Vini continues to fight against racism, dribbling and scoring goals: there were two, in addition to an assist.

Danilo has become untouchable and leader, while Alex Sandro is down at Juventus. Tite’s right-back in the Copa has become a defender in Italy and has been receiving praise. He scored two goals in the six games he played. Alex Sandro, who has an expiring contract, only played in half of the matches.

Injured, Alex Telles and Gabriel Jesus have yet to return to action. The same goes for Daniel Alves, arrested in Barcelona accused of rape in a nightclub.

Tite has yet to define his future. He recently rejected a proposal from the South Korea selection, eliminated by Brazil in the round of 16 of the Qatar Cup. The coach understands that it is not yet time to return to the edge of the field.
