Haddad will punish server for data of Bolsonaro’s disaffections – 03/01/2023 – Power

The Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad (PT), signaled to allies this Wednesday (1) that he should dismiss from public service the former head of intelligence at the Federal Revenue, Ricardo Feitosa, if it is confirmed that he broke the secrecy of enemies of the Bolsonaro clan.

In these conversations, the minister considered that he has not yet analyzed the case and that he will ensure that the breach of secrecy is proven. Haddad also stressed that Feitosa will have ample right of defense.

The information on the dismissal trend was published by the newspaper O Globo and confirmed by Sheet.

Feitosa accessed and copied in July 2019, the first year of Jair Bolsonaro’s (PL) administration, confidential tax data from the head of the Rio Public Ministry and from opponents of the then President of the Republic. The case was revealed by Sheet.

There was no formal investigation by the IRS against these people that would justify the consultations. Data were accessed from the coordinator of investigations into the alleged “cracks” scheme —the then Rio Attorney General Eduardo Gussem— and from two politicians who had broken with the presidential family, businessman Paulo Marinho and former minister Gustavo Bebianno.

The then chief of intelligence at the Revenue was in office for only four months. After his departure, the Revenue carried out an investigation that resulted in the suggestion of his suspension, but this was later changed to dismissal from public service — a decision whose application or not is the exclusive competence of the Minister of Finance.

As shown to Sheet this Wednesday, the Internal Revenue Service inspector, João José Tafner, claims to have suffered pressure last year from the former tax authorities command to shelve disciplinary proceedings opened against the then head of the agency’s intelligence. The former board of Revenue denies any action in this regard.

The assertions, made internally to the current command of the Revenue, resulted in the initiation of an investigation by the Corregedoria of the Ministry of Finance, which was confirmed by the Tax Authorities this Wednesday.

This happened after the current Revenue Secretary, Robinson Barreirinhas, transcribed Tafner’s accusations into a document and sent them to the Treasury Department.

According to reports, Barreirinhas saw a possible act of prevarication, since Tafner would not have reported the case or taken action at the time of the alleged pressures.

This investigation would contain yet another accusation by Tafner, made against Barreirinhas himself. The inspector also claims to have been pressured by the current head of the Revenue to resign from his mandate in the Internal Revenue Service, which ends only in January 2025.

In this Wednesday’s note, the Revenue denied there was pressure for the resignation of the corregidor.

Tafner participated in Bolsonarist campaign acts in 2018 and even posed for photos alongside the then candidate for deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (today in the PL) wearing a Brazilian national team shirt and a sticker from another PSL candidate, the party for which the former representative was elected.

He arrived at the position after a long public and behind-the-scenes campaign by the Bolsonaro clan to place someone aligned in the chair, as the family claimed to be persecuted through illegal data access and leaks of confidential information, especially those of Flávio Bolsonaro (PL -RJ).
