A tourist guide to bakeries in the state of São Paulo, which maps 148 establishments spread across 30 municipalities in São Paulo, was launched in October by the state tourism department.

The initiative is a partnership between the Association of Bakery and Confectionery Industries of São Paulo (AIPAN) and the state government, which consider bread a food of cultural value in the lives of São Paulo residents.

Of the more than 12 thousand bakeries in SP, those that have unique characteristics in their history, recipes, awards and popular recognition were included in the itinerary.

One of the examples is Padaria e Confeitaria Aurora, the oldest in the state, founded in 1860. Located at Rua Santa Cruz, 4, in Santana de Parnaíba (SP), the bakery is still managed by the same family that started the establishment’s activities .

In the capital alone, there are more than 80 chosen bakeries, such as Trigeria (r. Demóstenes, 805 -Campo Belo, southern region), which has a tree in its hall that has been maintained since its foundation, which decorates the environment.

In the east region, one of the recommendations is Panificadora Santa Branca (r, Siqueira Bueno, 2045 – Belenzinho), a traditional address in the neighborhood since 1938, which offers bread, coffee, sweets, pizza and lunch.

Also in the region is Cepam (r. Ibitirama, 1409 – Vila Lúcia), with 2,500 square meters, one of the largest in the city. The place offers a good space for families, with a wide variety of breads, sweets and cakes.
