GSI: Capelli criticizes intelligence report via WhatsApp – 04/28/2023 – Politics

The acting minister of the GSI (Institutional Security Office), Ricardo Cappelli, criticized the use of social networks and messaging applications to forward intelligence reports.

A Sheet revealed this Friday (28) that Abin (Brazilian Intelligence Agency) has sent alerts to Gonçalves Dias (Institutional Security Office) and the Ministry of Justice since January 6, already under the command of Flávio Dino (PSB) , about the possibility of violent actions and invasion of public buildings in the acts that would take place two days later, on January 8.

Former GSI minister Gonçalves Dias has received at least three of these alerts on his cell phone since January 6th.

“It is not appropriate for confidential intelligence reports from a country to be passed on through a messaging application of a private company in a foreign nation. This is not about xenophobia or conspiracy. We are dealing with NATIONAL SOVEREIGNTY,” he said on social media.

According to Cappelli, the main world powers created agencies to take care of a strategic issue: cyber security. According to him, there has already been an invasion of the email of then-president Dilma Rousseff and Petrobras data was breached.

“There is no Intelligence Center in Brazil responsible for coordinating all the existing intelligence in the different agencies. Who is the Maximum Authority? There is no unity of command. When there is a failure, one corporation pushes the other. This is the important question” , completed.

Cappelli, executive secretary of the Ministry of Justice and former interventionist in the security of the Federal District, was chosen last week to take over the ministry on an interim basis, after General Gonçalves Dias resigned from his position.

The federal government announced this Thursday (27) the dismissal of another 58 servants from the GSI (Institutional Security Office). The body went into crisis after the release of images of former minister Gonçalves Dias inside the Palácio do Planalto at the time when vandals were destroying the place, on January 8.
