On Tuesday (15), the Women in Regulation group sent an open letter to President Lula (PT) asking him to prioritize sending to the Senate the nomination of public servant Mariana Olivieri Caixeta Altoé to compose the collegiate board of ANAC (National Civil Aviation Agency ).
The federal government’s nomination was made in March, but, until today, it has not been forwarded to the Senate to start the sabbath process.
In the letter, the group points out that only 13.5% of director positions in federal regulatory agencies are occupied by women and that there is only one of them in the position of director-president of a regulatory agency —Veronica Rios, from ANA (Agência Nacional de Water and Basic Sanitation).
The text says that Anac was created in 2005 and that, since then, the collegiate board has had only two women among the 22 members who passed through the instance in the period.
According to the letter, “both Anac and the main Brazilian air transport companies signed a global commitment to increase by 25%, or even a minimum of 25%, female participation in senior management positions by the year 2025.”
“The appointment of at least one director among the 5 vacancies on the collegiate board is an essential condition for achieving this commitment”, writes the group, which praises the professional trajectory of the servant.
The letter is subscribed by the women’s networks Women in Aviation, Women Inside Trade (WIT), Gestoras na Leadership, by Sinagências (National Union of National Regulatory Agencies Servants), by Unareg (National Association of Effective Servants of Federal Regulatory Agencies), by Fonacate (Permanent National Forum for Typical State Careers), by Força Sindical, and by the female empowerment arm of the Federal Council of Real Estate Brokers – Cofeci Mulher group.
