In partnership with the Secretariat of International Relations and Foreign Trade of Amapá, the Academic Center of International Relations of Unifap promoted, this Thursday, 13th, in the auditorium of the Department of Exact and Technological Sciences, a conversation wheel with the diplomat Ricardo Nogueira , Deputy Head of the Northern Europe Division as a representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil.
In his speech, the diplomat spoke to students and professors, with good humor, about the profession, diplomacy course, positions, security, attributions, languages, accessibility, prejudice in Itamaraty, economy, borders, world leaders and about the Amazon region.
“Green hydrogen is the future of Amapá in international relations”, said Ricardo Nogueira, immediately receiving approval from another diplomat and secretary of international relations for Amapá, Lucas Abrahao, who was present at the conversation wheel. Green hydrogen is an energy source produced from the electrolysis of water, with little or no use of carbon.
The diplomat said that in economic and development issues in Amapá, the state can stand out in the production of clean energy, which excludes any type of pollution in its production system, which in general causes the greenhouse effect, resulting in climate change.
When asked about the Itamaraty’s vision regarding Amapá and the North region, the Brazilian diplomat declared: “We have an office in the state of Amazonas, it is the only one in the North region; it is impossible to disassociate this region from the Amazon rainforest. World leaders come to Brazil to talk about the region”, he concluded, emphasizing the view of foreign authorities regarding the area.
When he asked questions about his role, Ricardo pointed out: “Talking about diplomacy humanizes the profession; if the career is accessible to all sectors of the population, who will win is Brazil”, emphasized Ricardo, as an incentive to the audience composed of future diplomats.
The guest sees that Amapá people have many entry barriers in French Guiana. The asymmetric visa regime and the binational bridge, which is practically only used by the French, are some of the tribulations. He also observed that the relationship between Brazil and France is a subject that deserves attention, since the largest land border of the French country is with Brazil.
The diplomat Ricardo Nogueira and Lucas Abrahao, the secretary of international relations for the state of Amapá, in addition to the academics, were welcomed by the coordinator of the International Relations Course at the Federal University of Amapá, Camila Lippi.
Lucas, who studied International Relations at Unifap, declared: “The state government has the role of cooperating with the federal university, which is a great partner. We will carry out all the actions that we can to help in the training of international relations professionals”.
