Governor swears in 84 new state health advisors – News of Brazil

O Government of Amapá inaugurated 84 new state health councilors, who will have the mission of supervising, executing and formulating strategies for the implementation and fulfillment of public health policies in Amapá from 2023 to 2025. The ceremony, which took place at Palácio do Setentrião, brought together workers , managers and users of the Unified Health System (SUS).
Current President of the State Board of Health (CES), Kliger Campos, spoke of the role and importance of the necessary commitment that each counselor must have in the implementation and supervision of SUS guidelines.
“We are at a very important moment, delivering 84 new councilors to society to oversee the SUS, the functionality of hospitals, public policies and approvals of state accounts. The counselor has a very important task in front of the SUS, I hope that everyone who is arriving does their best”he said Kliger.
The Lieutenant Governor, Teles Junior, commented that, in 2023 alone, there was an increase of more than R$ 200 million in health investments, to ensure the expansion of beds, hospital renovations, hiring of professionals and, thus, improve assistance in Amapá.
“The Council is of fundamental importance as an advisory body and in the discussion of strategies. Amapá has a very active State Health Council, which has participated in decision-making and has independently monitored public policies. We welcome you and emphasize the importance of this body for the advancement of health in Amapá”scored Teles Junior.
Representing the Ministry of Health in Amapá, superintendent Roberto Bauer, who also has a seat on the Council, recognized the participation of entities, which showed interest in ensuring advances for SUS users.
“We have a great mission ahead of us, which is to make the council united and cohesive to work for the health of our population” said Bauer.
For the Secretary of State for Health, Silvana Vedovelli, the union between managers, users and workers is essential to ensure dignified health in the state.
“The Health Secretariat will always have its doors open, as I am sure the council will always have its doors open so that we can work together”emphasized Silvana.
The representative of the Council of Municipal Health Secretaries (Cosems) and secretary of health for the municipality of Oiapoque, Josimar Santos, stressed that the union between managers and social control is essential to ensure gains for the population.
“We, as Cosems, experience social control on a daily basis with permanent dialogue between managers and councils. A manager is not an enemy of social control, nor is social control an enemy of a manager, because we are all permanent institutions to fight, organize and plan the actions of the Unified Health System”emphasized Josimar.
In this composition, 11 new entities will be part of the council, one of them is the Ostomized Association of Amapá (AOAP). The president of the institution, Rosinete Maria Paes, says that participation in the Council guarantees a voice in public decision-making.
“Having a seat on the full Council will allow us to participate in decision-making, intervene and promote public policies that contribute to a better quality of life for the population of Amapa”commented Rosinete, who feels hopeful and motivated by the new mission.
