The governor Clécio Luís signed a work order for the construction of the new Emergency Hospital (HE) of Macapá, this Monday, 18th, in a ceremony with the presence of the senator David Alcolumbre, state secretary of health, Silvana Vedovelli, and other authorities, in addition to public servants and members of the public.
The new building, which will be built in two years, will have an area of 15 thousand square meters; five floors, 212 beds, six rooms in the Multispeciality Surgical Center, Diagnostic Imaging Center, dialysis services, technical support in the administrative area and heliport. The governor stated that the HE will be equipped with new equipment that exists in the best hospitals in the country.
Among those present were also the state secretary of infrastructure, David Covre; CEO of Setrap, Valdinei Amanajás; mayors of Santana, Bala Rocha, and Tartarugalzinho, Bruno Mineiro, among others, as well as representatives of the company responsible for the works that began today.
“After 50 years, we are building the first hospital in Macapá of this magnitude. Most of the hospitals were built during the Janary government. After many renovations and efforts, we are actually going to build a new HE. The importance of this is gigantic”celebrated the governor Clecio.
The manager also highlighted the importance of the new health center to serve the capital’s population, which has increased: “When the HE was built, Macapá had around 40 thousand inhabitants, now it has more than half a million and there are still another three hundred thousand people from the islands of Pará. The hospital really can no longer fulfill its urgent and emergency role. This will be the largest physical civil work in the state of Amapá”said the governor.
The work has investments of R$ 129 million in resources articulated by the senator David Alcolumbre with a counterpart from the State Treasury. The area, which is behind the current HE, in the center of the capital, was ceded by the Brazilian Army, also at the request of the parliamentarian. The site was occupied by residences for Army officers.
“Happiness and satisfaction of fulfilling our obligation in a very sensitive area. At HE, which is the first emergency care for every Amapá resident, when they have a health problem. Being part of this dream, having made the donation of the area possible to the Ministry of Defense. These resources are characterized by the Ministry of Health as a large hospital”said Senator Davi.
