Governor Clécio and Minister Flávio Dino discuss reinforcements for public security in Amapá – News of Brazil

Reinforcing strategies and investments for public security in Amapá was the subject of a meeting between the governor Clecio Luis and the Minister of Justice, Flavio Dino, in Brasilia. At the meeting, the expansion of the Operation Horus for the municipality of Santana, the modernization of the Scientific Police and the strengthening of the penitentiary system.
Articulated by Senator Randolph Rodrigues, the meeting took place on Wednesday, the 12th, with the presence of the senator himself, the secretary of Justice and Public Security of Amapá, José Neto; the CEO of the Scientific Police, Marcos Goés; and the Government secretaries, Rodolfo Vale; Planning, Jorge Pires; and the Representation of the Government of Amapá in Brasília, Aziel Araújo.
“It was an extremely fruitful meeting, because we dealt with public safety as a whole. There will be a lot of investment in vehicles, intelligence, modern equipment, reinforcement of Operation Horus, and improvements to our penitentiary system. Maintaining investment levels in Public Security and ensuring a sense of peace in our state is one of our Government’s priorities”highlighted Governor Clécio Luis.
The Secretary of Justice and Public Security, José Neto, presented the minister and the Ministry’s technical team with the need to reinforce the fight against crime in the municipality of Santana, due to the characteristics of being part of the Metropolitan Region of Macapá and because it is a port area. In Amapá, the Horus operation, which is a permanent job of integrating police forces to fight crime in the border region, has a strong presence in Oiapoque.
There were also negotiations regarding the reformulation and restructuring of the Amapá penitentiary system with new units and modern equipment, as well as the guarantee of modernization of the equipment and vehicles of the Scientific Police.
Minister Flávio Dino informed the State Government team that he will visit Amapá on August 17 to strengthen public security.
“We had a very productive audience with Minister Flávio Dino, and I dare say that this year will be the biggest investment ever made for public security in Amapá”said the senator Randolfe Rodrigues.
