This Monday (12) the government officially released R$ 247.3 million in parliamentary amendments to fund primary health care services in nine municipalities. The resources are from the Ministry of Health and signed by Minister Nísia Trindade in 301 proposals (see in full).
At the moment, resources are being allocated to amendments by parliamentarians from Acre, Amazonas, Amapá, Bahia, Ceará, Espírito Santo, Goiás, Maranhão and Minas Gerais. According to data from the Siga Brasil portal, for the execution of amendments, the health area – in particular the National Health Fund – is the most targeted for requests.
This year alone, the fund added R$ 16.9 billion in amendments, equivalent to 75% of the total. “The National Health Fund will adopt the necessary measures for the transfer of financial resources established in this Ordinance to the respective Health Funds, in a single installment, in accordance with the payment processes instructed by the Secretariat of Primary Health Care – SAPS, after complying with the conditions foreseen for this type of transfer”, says the publication of the Official Gazette this Monday (12) that makes the transfer official.
The release of amendments by the ministries was a recent determination by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) to convince deputies and senators to vote with the government on projects of interest to the Planalto Palace. In May alone, R$ 4.5 billion were committed, against R$ 97.3 million in April.
Support in the Chamber to vote on the new fiscal framework, for example, cost the release of R$ 1.2 billion in amendments the day before, generating 372 favorable votes.
In the first nine days of June, the Siga Brasil portal already shows the release of R$ 311.8 million in amendments.
