Government promotes technical meeting to implement the State’s fiscal modernization program – News of Brazil

This Tuesday, the 30th, the Government of Amapá promoted the first technical meeting with five state public management bodies, to discuss the Amapá Fiscal Management Modernization Program (Profisco Amapá). The initiative will improve the administration of revenues and the State’s fiscal, financial and asset management. The meeting continues until Wednesday, 31st, in the meeting room of the State Revenue Secretariat.
The program has a credit operation contract worth 30 million dollars with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), with a counterpart of almost US$ R$ 3 million from the State Treasury.
The contract, signed on December 30, 2023, by the governor Clécio Luís, together with the IDB representative in Brazil, and the Attorney General’s Office of the National Treasury as guarantor, triggered Amapá’s transition to the planning and execution phase of the program.
In addition to the State Secretariat for Finance (Sefaz), Profisco involves the participation of the State Attorney General’s Office (PGE), State Secretariat for Administration (Sead), State Planning Secretariat (Seplan) and the State Comptroller General (CGE).
“This financing is directly aimed at optimizing flows and using technology to improve service to the population. It comes precisely with the objective of solving some specific problems of public administration”, explained the Secretary of State for Finance, Jesus Vidal.
Over the next three months, technicians from these five bodies will meet to review and evaluate the project. The implementation of Profisco Amapá will take place starting next semester.
IDB
The IDB is an international financial organization headquartered in the city of Washington, USA, created in 1959 with the purpose of financing economic, social and institutional development projects and promoting regional commercial integration in the Latin American and Caribbean area. In Amapá, financing is aimed at modernizing fiscal management.
The State is the 24th federated entity to receive funding, which is divided into three components: IT, strategic planning, human resources; farm management, tax administration; financial management and public spending.
