The secretary of Sedecti, Serafim Corrêa, explained that this policy will benefit Amazonas in many matters.
Brasilia DF) – Representing the governor of Amazonas, Wilson Lima, the head of the State Secretariat for Economic Development, Science, Technology and Innovation (Sedecti), Serafim Corrêa, participated today (4th) in the launch of the National Policy for Export Culture (PNCE), which aims to facilitate the insertion of companies in the international market, with emphasis on small businesses. The event took place at the Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services (MDIC), headed by Minister Geraldo Alckmin, in Brasília.
Sedecti’s secretary, Serafim Corrêa, explained that this policy will benefit Amazonas in many matters, with the aim of boosting foreign trade and leveraging the participation of companies in this market.
“Today we have logistical bottlenecks and they will only be overcome if Amazonas is integrated into the export culture, because with that you bring the support of the federal government to overcome problems, such as, for example, customs at the Port of Tabatinga and the improvement of conditions of the BR-174, which allows us to reach Venezuela and Guyana, which are natural export corridors”,
highlighted Correa.
According to Alckmin, there is a great effort to reduce bureaucracy and also facilitate intraregional trade, which is the target of most export companies.
“The world is globalized, but in trade it is intraregional. In Canada, the United States and Mexico, 50% of trade is between them. In the European Union, 60% of trade is between them alone, 27 countries. In Latin America, this percentage is 26%. We have to win back Latin America’s neighbors. And that’s where we sell value-added products: cars, trucks, appliances. So, we will make an effort here in our region, in the sense of achieving an even stronger trade”,
declared the minister.
Serafim explained that Sedecti will hold meetings with interested companies and then integration will be made between MDIC and companies that want to export, including those that already export, with a view to increasing exports from Amazonas.
“As of this meeting, we will have a pact between the states and the federal government. Afterwards, it will be up to us to integrate the companies with the MDIC, so that they can take advantage of the advantages of being exporters”, he explained.
The National Policy
Instituted by Decree No. 11,593, of July 2023, the National Policy on Exporting Culture seeks to improve public policies related to foreign trade, strengthening programs, projects and inclusive actions that facilitate the insertion of companies in the international market. The policy will also provide greater coordination between bodies involved in promoting foreign trade and will support the entry and permanence of companies in the foreign market.
