Government of Amapá discusses work plan with the national Civil Defense to expand aid to families affected by flooding – News of Brazil

Governor Clécio Luís met with the team from the National Secretariat for Civil Protection and Defense, to discuss the work plan that will guarantee the release of resources to reinforce assistance to the residents of Aturiá, whose homes were destroyed by the strong tides of Rio Amazonas and the families affected by heavy rains in Macapá.
The meeting, on Thursday, 15th, was attended by the Minister of Regional Integration and Development, Waldez Góes; senator Davi Alcolumbre; the federal deputy, Josenildo Abrantes; the State Civil Defense and the Social Assistance Secretariat.
“We left a meeting with the National Civil Defense, and Minister Waldez’s arrival here was to make himself available, just as he is doing for the entire state, to help us in this period of coping with the heavy rains. We had a critical moment last Tuesday, but we know that the rainy season is not over yet, so we need to continue with the actions”pointed out the governor.
The Minister of Regional Integration and Development, Waldez Góes, highlighted that he should also seek to bring forward social programs such as Bolsa Família, for example, to support families benefiting from the federal program.
“Since Tuesday, we have been together with the State Government, supporting the city halls of Macapá and Santana, we have summarized the emergency situation decreed by Governor Clécio, and now we are meeting with both to discuss the work plans. We will also seek to bring forward social programs and other benefits. The Ministry of Health can provide a lot of support with health kits, serving a thousand people”, highlighted the minister.
Senator Davi Alcolumbre has also been monitoring and articulating policies to support families in Macapá. “We are monitoring this entire delicate situation that residents are facing. Both the State and Federal Governments are going to great lengths to minimize the impact of damage caused by the rains”he reinforced.
