The governor of Amapá, Clécio Luís, announced this Thursday, 28th, in a ceremony around the Marco Zero Monument, the transfer of R$ 4.5 million to carry out Carnival 2024. The investment, the result of articulation by the senator David Alcolumbre, will be passed on to the ten samba schools in the state.
During the announcement event, in addition to the governor, Clecio and the senator David, the lieutenant governor Teles Junior; the state secretary of culture, Clicia Di Micelli; presidents, flag bearers and other participants from samba schools in Amapá, who also attended a samba show.
“It is a partnership that worked, which has the purpose of reestablishing the strength and power of the Amapá carnival, which has always brought tourists, consumers and visibility here and outside of Amapá. It is a recovery that in itself is the most important cultural manifestation in Brazil and a recovery from an economic point of view”celebrated Clecio.
“Today we have the possibility of promoting this carnival movement, in addition to culture, in addition to our tradition, and in addition to the beauty and grandeur of the parade, the strength of our samba schools united in the samba school leagues. The resumption of carnival was a milestone in terms of giving consequences to this beautiful meeting of families and Amapá tradition”, said the senator David.
“Senator Davi and the state government have contributed to our Amapá carnival culture, and today, in the middle of the world, we kick off the 2024 carnival; in fact it is the official kickoff. This great promotion event, nothing as fair as holding this beautiful event for the samba schools in Amapá”, declared Alex Pereira, president of the carnival champion school, Piratas da Batucada.
Unlike 2023, when the funding was paid in three installments, the government will transfer the amount in a single installment, directly to the carnival associations, through the Independent League of Samba Schools of Amapá (Liesap). This year, the state administration revived the tradition of parades at the Sambódromo, in Macapá, which was revitalized, with interventions in the electrical network, lighting, bathrooms and new iron bleachers.
