Beer bars around the world are preparing for the celebration next Sunday (17th), St. Patrick’s Day.

The Irish festival will be brought forward starting this Tuesday (12) at Goose Island Brewhouse, with the launch of Leprechaun’s Barrel, a wood-aged Irish stout with 6.6% alcohol and 41 IBU (bitterness unit, in this case, moderate ).

Aged in an oak barrel, the beer is more alcoholic than traditional dry stouts and resulted in a very creamy drink, with aromas of coffee and a touch of cocoa.

The name of the beer plays on the famous figure of the green elf who brings fortune and, according to legend, is the guardian of various treasures.

From today to Sunday, the house will serve all draft beers, including the new one, for R$20 (350 ml glass). And, on Sunday, St. Patrick’s Day, anyone who risks showing up dressed as an elf gets a R$100 voucher to spend at the bar.

Located in the heart of Pinheiros, in Largo da Batata, Goose Island is a brewery originating in Chicago and part of the Ambev portfolio.
