President Lula’s speech took place at the opening of a meeting with ministers from the Infrastructure area, in which Haddad participates
Brasilia DF) – President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) defended, this Friday (3), the circulation of public money and said that the head of the Treasury, Fernando Haddad, cannot “leave excess” the money planned to be invested in ministries .
Lula stated that “good money is money transformed into works”. The statement was given at the opening of a meeting, which took place this morning, at Palácio do Planalto, with Infrastructure authorities.
The PT member called Haddad, present at the meeting, a “money freer”. “Haddad, in addition to being our money liberator, a guy who puts money in the hands of the ministries, he has one very important thing, which is this: we cannot leave money left over that is planned to be invested in the ministries,” he said Squid.
“For those in the Treasury, good money is money in the Treasury, but for those in the Presidency, good money is money transformed into works, money transformed into roads, into schools [de primeiro, segundo e terceiro grau]It is [em] health. In other words, if money is circulating and creating jobs, that’s all a politician wants and what a president wants”, added the president.
Lula said he wants ministers to be “the best spenders of money on works of interest to the Brazilian people”. The speech comes a week after Lula himself said that zero deficit will “hardly” be achieved in 2024.
The Chief Executive stated that he will not establish a fiscal target that would force the government to start the year by cutting billions of reais in works that are a priority for the country.
The meeting aims to take stock of infrastructure actions after 10 months of government, in light of the New PAC, the Growth Acceleration Program, coordinated by the Civil House, of minister Rui Costa.
It is one of the first meetings of Silvio Costa Filho, the Republican deputy, who took over the Ports and Airports portfolio in August, replacing Márcio França (PSB), with the aim of opening more space for Centrão parties.
