Couples prepare for a show at Boate Azul, in São Paulo. The project features three hours of music, mixing hits from the artists and country classics. Gian & Giovani and Edson & Hudson enchant the crowd with the ‘Boate Azul’ project at the Festa do Peão de Barretos Ricardo Nasi/g1 Gian and Giovani and Edson and Hudson recorded the DVD Boate Azul in February 2022, in São Paulo. And this week, they return to the city for a special show for the project named after the album. The presentation, which takes place this Friday (10), features a three-hour show and around 50 songs. In the repertoire package, there is space for hits from both duos and country music classics. The quartet took the performance to the Festa do Peão de Barretos 2023, in August. But how can you summarize the combined successes of two decades-long careers in three hours? “It’s really a pleasant problem to face, right?”, said Giovani in an interview with g1. “We do what we like, and with two friends who we love dearly too, and who are practically two of our brothers. It’s a lot of fun,” said the singer. “We go more or less based on what Edson and Hudson think people would like to hear from the duo and also from Gian and Giovani. Sometimes we give our opinion on each other’s repertoire. And the classics, we it really goes by our intuition. But it’s a difficult problem to solve.” Giovani also explained that the repertoire should be based on what was recorded on the DVD. And he added that the quartet has plans to continue with the project and record a new album. Separations United on stage, the quartet carries stories of separations. The two duos have already had their breaks. Edson and Hudson separated in 2009, and the duo got back together in 2011. The two spent two years apart due to relationship problems, worsened by alcoholism. At the height of the stress, right before the separation, the two even exchanged accusations of assault. Gian and Giovani announced the end of the duo in 2014. At the time, the brothers were having a disagreement and preferred to end their career, interrupting a career that spanned 26 years and 16 albums, including studio albums and live recordings of studio. Although the announcement indicated a definitive end, the brothers resumed the project four years later, in 2018. “I think what we learned from this time away from each other is that we love each other a lot. We’re brothers, right? And, mainly, it’s that one is sorely missed by the other”, said Giovani. The singer also gave advice to the duo Victor and Leo, who recently announced their comeback tour five years after announcing a break. “The advice that If we can give them one piece of advice, as they are two great friends of ours, we would like to be united. And they certainly are. The basis of everything is respect, right? Respect between brothers, in society. That’s what counts.” See what Edson and Hudson and Gian and Giovani’s show was like in Barretos
